There are two firm beliefs that I have acquired from this project:
- i)
- The concepts of designing the system as an abstractly defined
machine together with capability based protection were extremely
useful and I strongly advocate their future use;
- ii)
- The concepts of distributed system code and mapped address
spaces introduced many complications unnecessary for the provision
of an adequate time sharing system, and I would recommend at most
limited use of these ideas in future systems.
